They won one national championship by my count, in a trashing of Oklahoma during which they were never tested.
Last year, gut check game against Oregon. Fail. Gut check game against Stanford. Fail. Gut check game against Texas in the Rose Bowl in '05. Fail. Gut check games against Oregon State and UCLA two years back. Fail. Fail. Gut check game tonight. Fail.
The only gutsy win I remember them having was that one against Notre Dame.
If you think this team isn't consistently a paper tiger, then fine. But I've been seeing this happen for years, and it never ceases to crack me up.
