I'm heading up for Thanksgiving weekend for the final days of the meet and would like to know a decent area to stay.
I stayed at the Hurstbourne Days Inn for the last Breeders' Cup and that was fine however 12 miles away.

I am in the process of relocating to Louisville and am staying at the Residence Inn near the airport, which is about 5-10 minutes from Churchill Downs.
On the same street (Phillips Lane) as my hotel are the following:
Comfort Suites
Hampton Inn
Spring Hill Suites
Courtyard
Executive Inn (East and West)
Even a few minutes closer to Churchill Downs is the Hilton Garden Inn, Ramada Inn, and Country Inn & Suites (on Crittenden Drive I believe).
