As for palin, what are the chances that McCain croaks? And even if he does how exactly can a Republican President (especially one not elected) get ultra right wing programs past a democratic congress? A VP basically goes into hiding the day after the election and anyone who thinks that McCain is going to allow Palin to be his Cheney obviously doesnt understand McCain. Right-wing programs aside, I just think she's not very smart, and would have no idea what the hell to do, hence her platform pretty much being her as a 'hockey mom'.. Hockey mom, leader of the free world.. Same thing I guess.
Obama may lack 'executive experience', but at least he's obviously a bright guy and has laid out plans for when he takes office.
