So let me get this straight.. The onus is on Jackson to send his ALREADY PROVEN champion horse to a fake stakes on a surface they've already smartly abandoned to face a three-year-old whose connections have have constantly spoken out of line.
What the hell is in it for Jackson, and for that matter, what is in it for him to try Curlin on synthetics, where his horse (as many have done) will potentially run lousy and damage his legacy with the idiots who put synthetic on the same level as dirt.
I don't get it. Synthetic surfaces have been a boardwide joke around here, and now when Jackson doesn't want to risk his horse hating the tires, he's being a chicken.
Big Brown's supposed to be a freak on dirt. So what the hell was the problem with the Woodward? And what would've been the problem with the JCGC? You really think that if IEAH had announced that they were going to the JCGC, Curlin wouldn't have been there?
But no, they're taking their "superhorse" to a fraudulent turf stake at Monmouth. Great drama.. You might as well take the freaking horse to Finger Lakes. Either way, they'll be creating a race for you with little to no incentive for anyone else to show up. Big Brown is on the run, and Curlin, who's already proven his mettle, isn't the one who should be chasing.
