Keep in mind that this type of 'gamesmanship', as some would deem it, is quite common in races, and, apparently, condoned by the NYRA stewards. I didn't see this race live and have no idea whether the stewards looked at it; but I doubt it. Nice to see Ramon dish it out as he's so often on the receiving end (as he was with Good Request his previous race).

I did see it, and while I had no financial interest in the outcome (nor in the Country Star race), I did have Good Request in the Showdown contest so I watched it. There was a jockey's objection, which was dismissed rather quickly by the stewards (shocker... another Frankel.) In both cases it's rather ambiguous on whether the outcome was affected by the bearing in and out, but I'm a firm believer that if a jockey cannot keep a horse straight and it is more than 50% likely the other horse(s) affected might have gotten by they should be disqualified. This kind of poor riding (or if intentional, 'gamesmanship') could cause serious injury to horse or rider if allowed to continue, let alone affecting the outcome of the wagering.
