Makes sense, first it was just football- then baseball, basketball, and hockey joined in, now it's all those plus golf, skiing, swimming, running, parasailing, chess, whatever. Pretty pathetic in my opinion. I think a lot of these guys try to make up for their own inadequacy in sport by pushing their children too hard. With Title IX, it's even harder for a male to get an athletic scholarship and shouldn't be the dependent path to college. Doing well in class is still the best route, no matter what high school you attend.


I agree with GPK though... a girl with a strong 5 handicap is very much in line for a scholarship.
