He ran an okay 1:48.1 off a layoff. I've never seen anyone say he's the second coming of Secretariat.
The horse is the Derby and Preakness winner. They brought him back. Yeah, to protect the shed value, so what? It's August and he's still running. Good! Made the race far more interesting.

thing is, i've seen him compared to some very good and great horses. pointing out that he didn't quite run up to some folks expectations doesn't mean we aren't sporting, or didn't enjoy the race. i enjoyed watching a horse almost beat big brown. didn't make me gag at all.
altho i did have a moment when dick dutrow said 'babe' to j edwards.
