Marty....come on. Biggest upset in the history of the game?? Fleck over Hogan in '55 comes to mind. 20 year old Ouimet beating Vardon and Ray in 1920 at the US Open is another that would rank as a more unlikely upset.
Never been a huge fan of his...but for what he has accomplished thus far, through 54 holes, is nothing short of amazing. He's 53 and this is his first major championship since 2005. But, the best player on the planet is not there, the # 2 ranked player in the world can't break an egg (much less break par) in a British Open. The hottest player in the US is playing in Wisconsin. Anything can happen in that tournament...I mean think about it, Paul Lawrie won this tournament in 1999.
