I had to explain this to my brother once and he was
absolutely pissed because we set up his ticket for his scratched
horse to be one of the longshots in a later leg along with the favorite.

He won some money but he risked way too much for the payout.
But at that point in the ticket he still had a chance for some
more serious money. It was very hard to explain. I thought he
would strike me over the cell phone.
