Argue all you want, but the top claiming trainers, and I know plenty of them, know their business stone cold. Most of my trainers know every single claiming horse on the grounds -- watch them work, race, cool out, etc. -- so it makes it much easier.
Doesn't mean there isn't "something else" but I'd look at those #'s.

I agree 100% with that. This is why Catalano is so successful. He claims for 15k, drops for 10k and wins, profits a couple hundred dollars when said and done, and if the horse doesn't get claimed, they run back for 10k again and win and get claimed...
