His shoe problem didn't have anything to do with him coming up empty. Blame the heat or the missed trainer, but a loose shoe doesn't account for the empty tank. Horses win races without shoes all the time. The excuses are getting old. Maybe he just wasn't good enough to win a TC. All he needed was a 100 beyer and he couldn't even do that.
