It isn't just a stern "push a horse HARD" atmosphere, they have some emotional involvement. Larry is one of the better at working a horse before a race. If there is any weakness in his game it's getting jockeys that suit his horses styles. I am not a GAbe Saez expert, except that he gets the job done when he has the most horse which is a pretty good trait to have.
