Hooves.
I have no idea how you can cap so many venues.
My brain just cannot keep with so many tracks.
I find myself making just a few large bets a year now.
So I have problems. I just dont bet many races.
This is why I like reading what others are doing.
So thanks for the effort Hooves and others.

Somewhat similar.
I probably look at the California tracks every day I realize I might have a chance to hit the OTB. Maybe 3 days a month on average, and occasionally more.
I only play if I see a setup I like, based only on limited criteria I like to track. Not too anal about tracking, keeping the betting action purely fun.
If I go in with a set play, it's normally for one or two races, and normally between $40 and $120 per race. But I do normally allow myself one spontaneous recreational bet if I see something interesting happening at another track with a glance at the form, I might let $30 to $75 go there.
If I hit anything, especially my set plays, I might play one more spontaneous bet, but am certain to walk out with a profit.
On my pre-set plays, I do normally watch some calracing.com replays to get ideas and confirm thoughts before wagering.
I'm not going to brag about winnings, but I'm sure I win at least 50% of the time...though likely not much more. I never lose more than $300 in a day, and frequently win $150 to $300 in a day. Those are the most common occurrences.
As we all know, the great pleasure is getting the "sweet spot" hit on one of the big exactas or tri's and going high triple digits.
I think I've played one "pick (fill in the blank)" in my life. I just don't enjoy handicapping and relying on required outcomes in consecutive races to collect my ticket.
I'm primarily an Exacta, Quinella, Win, and Tri bettor. I will back up with a Place bet under certain circumstances, though I know others here poo-poo the idea. I'll go supers in big races only, or with the track's $$ in my pocket.
