Tada said, despite being in America so long, he is sorry to leave. “The people are so nice, and it’s hard to say goodbye to everyone, especially the people in this (John Hertler’s) barn. The NYRA people, the press people; they’ve all have been so nice to us.”
When asked if he feels like he’s been Americanized, Tada said, “Next time I come I’ll say, ‘Hey man, my horse is going to win the Breeders’ Cup, babe.”

John Hertler is a nice guy...when Real Quiet ran in the Belmont, I was lucky enough to have a friend who knew John. He took us around the barn the day before and set us up with a box and the turf club for the Belmont. He had Chief Bearheart in his barn for the Manhattan.
Steve - any chance you could ever have John on? he has been on the NY scene forever..and he has some good stories about Slew O' Gold.
