You said Magnificience did
not run a disappointing race. In the very same sentence, you said she failed to meet your expectations with her race.
If the definition of disappoint = failure to meet expectations of someone (you), then that sentence is a contradiction.
Needless nitpicking? Yes. But when you're trying to give everyone else on the thread the high-hat, you ought to check your wording carefully lest you look foolish.
