I thought he played pretty well for the most part. Not good enough however as they lost. What can you do?? I thought he took one ill-advised 3 when they were down 1, but he had made two straight at the time he took it. Biggest shot of the game was PJ Brown making an 18 footer to put them up 3...I can live with that. They designed a good play after that basket as LEBron off the triple team got it to West for a wide open 3 with no one within 10 feet of him, but he missed it too as LeBron did the possession before.
I didn't see too many horrible decisions by the team in crunch time. After that possession, the next time still down 3...LeBron drove to the basket and missed with contact from PJ Brown. Good call, not nearly enough contact to call a foul in a game 7, but the right play....after that fouls were aplenty.
IN all honesty, the only questionable decision was the 3 by the frozen one when down 89-88 I think...my memory is frozen a bit...I think that did happen, and at the time he had made two straight from long range and was pretty hot at the time.
I am not very smart however and am most likely mis-analyzing. I am happy with how the team played in this series. They played a team that won over 20 more games than them and were not out-classed in the series only having one bad loss in game 2. They had 2 really good opportunities in Boston to win games 1 and 7 but just weren't good enough. I will acquiesce to Morty and say James is the sole reason they lost the series as game 1 was the difference maker...he was beyond abysmal that game without question. He played ok in game 7 however...but game one was the one.
I think they would not be as good a team without James however. (does that statement really make me a witness!!)
