Dude, we dont work
for them. The money that they pay out in purses isn't their money. By contract it is our money. They pay based on projections. If they handle more than projected, they raise purses, if less, they cut them. It is rare that a 2% decrease in handle (derby day) leads to a 20% purse cut.
