Since I have lived in my current location there have been 2 tornados that have touched down within 5 miles of me....they don't conveniently happen during the day so you can watch and see what's happening...and they destroy lives and property.
The last one killed a whole bunch of animals that were trapped when the barn they were in fell on them....
while it may be a thrill to see one rip through a corn field, you have to consider that it just ruined someone's crop (ie earnings) for the year....they are never without consequence.

I understand that part, 100%. And if tornado's could be prevented, I would be all for it, but I doubt nature would allow that from happening.
