Beulah Park can be fixed, of course it will require substantial cash. Of course I am biased as well because I live 15 minutes away and have developed a certain affection for the dump. But consider this. It sits in the shadows of the capitol city. It has plenty of dining and hotels within 10 miles. It has plenty of areas to rent within miles. And, it does have a history, it has been around for decades. I could easily see this place take off, especially if they can draw the 20 and 30 somethings in for a weekend of fun playing slots, bettin the ponies, fine dining etc.
Thistledowns I can't really give an opinion on because I have only been their once.

I just don't think they can support it, it's the Capital City, but the population is not as big as Cincinnati or Cleveland, think about it, there's no professional ball teams in Columbus, they couldn't support it. Cincinnat is right on the border of Kentucky with Keeneland and Churchill only an hour and a half away, it would be a better shipping situation and some of the 2nd tier horses from there would come to RD. They already run those stupid 7 and 7's with Beulah or Thistle, those are rediculous, if you can't support the card alone, bring all of the horses to one spot, and River Downs is the better of all three of them, plus they have a Turf Course.
