Augustin is fast, can pass and shoot. If he can limit turnovers and make good decisions he will do fine. Of course no other position depends on teammates for success as pg. Rebounders can get boards regardless of teammates, defensive stoppers and scorers are more individual players. He is better than at least 1/2 of the pg's in the NBA right now. And that's being conservative.

Stoudamire has been given the green light to shoot at that time. He has not refused to pass, he cant get a grip on the offense. Barry was out, Parker gone at the time, Finely shooting very poorly from 3 land.
The question for me is why does the NBA champs have a guy (Vaughn) playing backup that really does not do anything you want out of a PG. Besides play very good defense (my preference).
Coach pgardn likes PG's that can harass and run a team.
Augistin has shown no ability to do the first. Thats why
I would take Rose over him. And Rhondo.
Your MVP suggestion, Chris Paul, is a wonderful help and
on the ball defender. And I will bet you Augistin does not
remain a starter his first year in the NBA. The position is too
difficult. If he does. I have underrated him vastly.
(Please dont go DJ)
BTW. Durant has found his way to the basket. He is actually
shooting FT's and his field goal % has gone up. Imagine that
connection.
I like PG's that play D also.
Coach Pop and myself.
We like the D.
