most pasture won't recover any time soon, if at all, unless people are able to get horses off of them and let them rest. And first cut hay here will be just as expensive as anything available right now since so many farms are desperate, we are paying up to 11 dollars a bale for timothy mix where my horses are and it's harder and harder to get.
11.00 a bale is a bargain here, Timothy hay is 19.00 a bale here, Alfalfa is 15.00 - 20.00 depending on weight, and plain Oat hay is 15.00 a bale, everyone , everywhere is feeling the pinch with their horses.
