There's nothing to defend one way or another. It's an inane conversation. You're trying to split hairs on turf figs, which are essentially meaningless, and you have absolutely no understanding of them anyway.

We all know Lear's Princess is a nice horse who ran a solid race off the layoff. Whether she ran a 90, 95, or 100 you are still going to consider her a serious threat wherever she runs next. As for Dreaming of Anna, she's a nice horse, no worldbeater, but if she can set her own pace, against modest competition, she is usually dangerous. Would you feel differently about her if she ran a 98?
