It's been a consistent rainy mess in New Orleans lately, which should surprise just about nobody. It seems to be finally clearing up.

Fairgrounds has some excellent turf racing throughout their meet. This concept is like saying that they should just cancel all racing in New Orleans all the time because it might rain-- after all, cappers are wasting their time capping if the track turns out sloppy and they have to readjust and horsemen are wasting their time because their horses may or may not like the mud.

Do you get this indignant when the main track comes up wet?

They've cancelled just about every turf race for the past 2 weeks. The only day they kept on had just about the worst turf races you could want. And, the turf didn't look bad at all that day.

Why not be more selective and keep the BETTER races on SINCE the turf is usable. One or so every couple of days would make sense. This is typically what the 'BIG TRACKS' do.

Logic escape you?
