Here's a suggestion: If you feel like you're wasting your time, don't cap the turf races.

It's been a consistent rainy mess in New Orleans lately, which should surprise just about nobody. It seems to be finally clearing up.

Fairgrounds has some excellent turf racing throughout their meet. This concept is like saying that they should just cancel all racing in New Orleans all the time because it might rain-- after all, cappers are wasting their time capping if the track turns out sloppy and they have to readjust and horsemen are wasting their time because their horses may or may not like the mud.

Do you get this indignant when the main track comes up wet?
