Phil, he was riding the absolute lone speed on a racetrack that has been very kind to speed, especially at two turns. She absolutely had the lead to herself, Dominguez was not perservering, and he just gave it up to be outside, which is deadly on the inner at two turns on many occasions. They crawled and he just gave up the advantage he was given. She's a faint hearted sprinter trying to stretch to a two turn win. The absolute best way to get that done is to attempt to wire the field.
Had she held her position, the pace could have been pretty much just as slow and
she would have held the inside, and perhaps not allowed the winner up the rail. Could she still have lost? Of course, but this is not the way you ride to your strengths and the track's strengths. Elliot has no clue and only wins races because he rides miracle horses for Assmussen ( did you catch the one in Thursday's 3rd race by the way? ).
