HKJC not only arranged a race for Super Kid but a new one this year... in honor of Russian Pearl.
Beautiful little boy ("the engine of a Lamborghini in the body of a mini-Cooper"... one of Tony's better lines).
Russian Pearl for those who don't know was Bullish Luck's stable mate, travel companion, workout partner and friend.
Won the Stewards' Cup (beat a fantastic field)...

... and other races including the HSBC premiere Cup two years in a row and a great 2nd to Vengeance of Rain in the HK Derby.
4th in the Champions Mile, 4th in the HK Cup (VOR, Pride, Maraahel)... he ended his career with a 119 rating... near the top of the top 50 which he was always in (if not the top 10 or 15).
Went to Dubai with BL where he placed a disappointing 9th, raced in NZ before HK.

This poor horse suffered injury after injury but Cruz ran him into the ground.
(Fight if you want, No Chance. He DID).
Anyway, nice to see a race named for him.
