I don't fully trust any figures.
I usually use them as a tiebreaker or a quick way to eliminate horses that can't contend. Beyers at Tampa are okay, the tougher task is to compare figs (any figs) for horses shipping in from other tracks and somehow coming up with the best horse. That is part of why you can usually see some big prices at the beginning of a meet. Once horses have run over a track a couple times, it becomes easier to identify contenders and the prices seem to settle down.
