If I'm home and watching the races on the computer, I'll monitor the thread and let you know when the contest is closed for that race. If I'm at the track that day (which I hope to be as much as possible since this is the last racing season for my home track, Bay Meadows), I'll go by what time your post was made and what time the race went off at - as long as your pick was made before the race started (your post must be time stamped the minute, or more, before the race started based on Equibase's "Time off" notation on the results page) your pick will count. This is not scientific nor precise but it's the best I can do and still give you a chance to see the post parade.
If you don't like my rules, if you b*tch and complain, if you think you're being cheated and it's unfair - I don't care. It's my contest (I pay for the prizes myself), my rules and everything worked fine last year and we all had fun. If you cause me grief and make this difficult, I just won't tally your score. This is suppose to be fun and help you keep track of the potential Derby horses leading up to the first Saturday in May. Please let's keep this fun.
I will continue to try to post free PP's whenever possible. If someone finds them before I do, send me the link and I'll get it up. Thanks for playing everyone, may the best capper win!

"except for hi im god, obviously he's in paradise"
right.
running the contest is hard. running the universe is paradise.
that wasn't a complaint. just an observation.
i'm all for setting parameters and allowing free will. then smiting the whiners.
i'm sure this will be a great show.
