Teuf has a pretty nice sireline. Though J'Burg is unproven as a sire of sires (he's only 8!) with his female family and Storm Cat sireline, I would not be shocked if he did OK. I do tend to think that the market flooding that Coolmore does is more harmful in the long run and high class horses are often overshadowed by a huge supply of modest "siblings." That is why several of J'Burgs babies were available so cheap, there are just too many of tem.

Teuf's inbred to State, through Border and (more importantly) Narrate. It's pretty clear that Narrate was a better representative of the family in the shed than Border but Border did throw Northcote Road and Hem. It's also fair to say that Narrate was bred to better stallions, maybe because Claiborne was none to fond of Spectacular Bid once he was clearly a spectacular flop in the shed. From the covering stallions, my guess is that Border was sold mid career. Line was pretty modest as well and again it looks like Claiborne sold he mid career.
Nevertheless, that fact that he is inbred to a very classy mare and had a successful career should earn him a stud career.

Whatever one may think about the connections, this guy has earned it. Not long ago on this board I recall reading many posts about how mis-managed this poor horse was and ideas like "imagine how good he would have been with a real trainer." If that is the case then he "could" have been far better than we will ever know.
