I can understand that since he did go to Michigan. But the part where he said that he's not going to Michigan......and that makes him sad.....that's a little bit too much for me. LSU provides him with everything he could want and he's sitting there saying that he's sad that he can't take the other job and that he's a man with two loves? Again, while a part of me can understand how he feels, another part of me would feel slighted as an LSU administrator when I've supported a guy, gave him the opening to talk to the other school, give him everything and he's still sitting there saying he's sad that he can't take the other job.
In order to say that Herbstreet was irresponsible in his reporting, one would have to know for a fact that he wasn't given his information by reliable sources. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find that Miles had told Michigan earlier in the day that he would take it and then changed his mind. It's not like that doesn't happen in major college coaching. I saw people report that Billy Donovan was taking the Orlando Magic job. Was that irresponsible reporting?

miles had to make a decision, and he made it--while at the same time acknowledging that he was in essence closing the door on what is a life long dream. i think he was being refreshingly honest, and i appreciated it. no wonder people hold back, or use political speak, they get fried when they speak from the heart. i felt for the guy, but he found a new home three years ago and has come to love it. lsu let him know they wanted him to stay, and he's happy there. so what's wrong with one last nod to his former home?
miles said he never spoke to michigan, there were no talks as yet, and would not be til after yesterdays game. so how would he have been able to say he'd take a job that wasn't formally offered? or maybe michigan thought he was a shoe in due to all the talk in recent weeks. at any rate, whoever kirks source was-he better get a second opinion before reporting next time.
