- When his girlfriend tried to call 911 the phone was dead because the lines had been cut...very Cape Fear like. She then had to use her cell phone which caused a delay in the emergency response.
- His house was completely walled in and alarmed to the nines....How did they get in? Is that why the phone lines were cut...to silence the alarm?

If they were there to rob him why did they break into the bedroom, shoot him, not shoot the girlfriend, and cut the phoneline ? Did they actually take anything? Finding and cutting the phoneline in the dark and only shooting him makes me suspect about the whole story
