I don't know that I necessarily agree with that. An upset can occur in the Super Bowl or in one of the playoff games leading to the Super Bowl and they don't end up winning it. Would that take away from what they've accomplished all year? To an extent, yes. But not totally. It's not like baseball or basketball where they get a seven-game series to determine the champion and the cream always will rise. In a one-game setting, anything can happen and that's why I don't just look at who the champion is in a particular season and say that was the best team. Same as in college basketball. I don't know if you follow that sport or if you do, how far back you go but back in 1983, Houston was clearly the dominant team in the nation. But they were upset by NC St. in the championship. Same thing with Georgetown in 1985 when they were upset by Villanova. Was Duke the best team in 1991 when they beat UNLV? On the particular days, NC St., Villanova and Duke were the better teams. But if each of those games were to be rematched the following day, the losing teams would be favored again. I think NE can put a definite stamp on their claim to being the best team ever with a Super Bowl title. I also think that what they've shown they are capable of when at their best in just 10 games this season has already put them in the discussion. I personally feel that this is one of the five best teams I've ever seen, regardless of whether or not they finish the deal.
