You're right when you say it's impossible to lose a race by a short head, but he looked certain to be beaten further than that, and the winner didn't go on as expected. I remember seeing the betting patterns for this race before hand and it looked very 'fishy', especially when connections really fancied him and the Fallon factor.......... I still think he was meant to lose this race, but it got very close. No jockey would ease up that much in the final furlong if they had any sense at all, and Fallon certainly has sense.
