IMHO, Les Miles is sly fox. Refusing to discuss Michigan is both strategic for his team and for him personally. Also, he has stipulation in his contract that if he wins BCS championship game his pay will be elevated to top three. Currently, Les earn $1.8 million per year -- top 3 is $3 million minimum according to media reports. Is Michigan athletic foundation that well heeled? Plus, $1.5 million to buyout LSU contract. Total, $4.5 million first year!
Bo Pellini is very good defensive coach. However, staff is much easier to replace than head coach. Traditionally, LSU pays its assistants well -- better than many top jobs in BCS tier. Nebraska probably has big enough wallet to get him. Rebuilding program in decline is more difficult than some folks anticipate. Notre Dame had dead cat bounce, winning season, now, they are merely cannon fodder for their opponents.
Silly season for coaches has officially begun and will continue through bowl season...
