not sure where chuck (or other TB trainers) stand on it....but we used to give it to the show/performance horses at one barn where I worked....bee pollen is high in B-vitamins and beta-carotene (precursor to vitamin A)....B vits ancedotally help animals (and humans) deal with strees(among other things)...and Beta carotene is one of the first things to break down in cut hay...meaning most hay is deficient in it. So we found it helpful in horses that no access to grazing (because show morgans don't go outside except to work---like racehorses).

It DOES seem to increase appetite in hard keepers and horses with ulcers....though I'm not sure why.
