Of the closers, Dont Get Mad was coming off a week layoff, Wilko is a bum, Andromedas Hero needs 12f to place, and the others stunk. Afleet Alex had a troubled trip, and Giacomo had clear sailing on the wire to nip 'em. Come on, you know this - the race set up PERFECT for him. So did the San Diego Cap. Preachinatthebar - a Grade III horse at best - goes 22.81, 46.01 - and Giacomo is all out late to get by him. I think the Derby winner is a nice horse, but to even mention HOY with him right now is absurd all things considered. Lets see how Giacomo does if Lava Man gets loose in the Pacific Classic and runs the half in 47 3/5. Giacomo wont be near him at the finsih...

i don't think a 20 horses field sets up for anyone.
lets wait till the 20th.
you didn't like giacomos chances going into saturdays race.
he is back from surgery and as good as he was, i can't wait till the 20th. maybe the claimer will win, maybe he won't. but giacomo is ITM more than he is not and to leave him out of the picture, as a slow horse, is inaccurate.
