on pedigreequery.com any mare with an asterisk next to her name denotes a reines de course. that means she was a producer of great repute.
My personal favs are Somethingroyal (dam of Secretariat), La Troienne, Shenanigans, Jameela...there are so many and they are just as important in breeding as the sires.
