That's the type of racecalling I like: the mix of emotion and clarity, the excitement, the race caller not being afraid to put their impressions and a little editorializing into the mix.

I was listening to Australian racing last night: 14-18 horse fields, the race caller accurately getting all horses in at the points of call, but adding during the call how they were doing: "covered up nicely on the rail", "overracing a bit", "just off the pace, not her usual style but going well", "settled nicely at the back of the pack", "two off the rail going comfortably but needs to come off or he'll get trapped here" - and a being able to describe an eight horse calvalry charge - and notice all the horses coming home hard outside to inside - wow!

I want to be able to just listen to the race (not view it), and know what is going on!
