Glass doors are a problem because dogs don't initially realize they are there and can run right through them...since greyhounds are so quick/fast, the initial danger to them is greater.
No, but believe me, it's a disgrace! The % is much higher for horses, up until the greyhound rescue groups really got in gear about 10-15 years ago, few greyhounds survived unless used for breeding. It's all economics...dogs are much cheaper to breed, train etc...while horses have many uses after racing (trail, eventing, jumping etc), the dogs can only be used as pets and the "market" is limited. I support horse racing obviously but I stand with my PETA brothern regarding Greyhound Racing...it should be banned as it's no better than dog and rooster fighting imo!
