After that quick polytrack work, the daughter of Mineshaft out of a Forty Niner mare sold for $1.75 million.

Her 2nd dam is the Del Mar Oaks winning turf specialist Stylish Star.

Patricia's Gem is believed to be in Dick Mandella's southern california barn, she worked 5 furlongs in 58 flat out of the gate at Santa Anita yesterday.

I'm a little interested in watching this one - I have a hard time imagining a Mineshaft filly being quick.
Jeez I go on vacation and they let her rip..........She is not typically the type of horse that they buy at the sales , she"s what I would call a fullfigured girl lol . When I have worked her I never let her reach top speed because she was a little fat , but I can tell you that the feeling she gives you when you are on her back is like driving a Porshe , she drops down when you push on the gas peddle and her 12 second 1/8ths feel like 14.
Also a side note , the track at Santa Anita is usually a few ticks faster down the backside and so its really not that hard to get a fast gate work , I wish I could have seen the work to see if she was being pushed or not. Oh well Ill be back to work on Monday so I guess Ill find out then .
