Old Trieste had the worst luck, dying young, and his talented offspring have suffered the same fate. I was sickened at the news about Venetian Sunset, a half to Strong Hope. Now whether he was classy enough to be a stakes horse, who knows, but he seemed to have brilliant talent. I remember Steady Course - I hope she at least survived to make it as a broodmare? Jump Start has a full sister who is very talented but I doubt she'll ever run again. I forget her name (Classic something?), but she was trained by Todd Pletcher; she ran 1:10 and change in her debut last year and was being pointed to the Frizette. Since then, absolutely nothing. That family is very unsound, unfortunately.
One horse who I think could turn out to be a very interesting sire is Flatter (yes, another Indy, I know...lol). He is a full brother to Congrats, but with much more brilliance. He only raced 4 times, but showed tons of talent. He's got the Indy/Mr. P cross and is from a brilliant family. He's an unknown, but one who could make some noise, I think.
