Count me in with the crowd that is glad they retired him.
I can't blame the yellow-bussers for wanting their star to go out with a stakes win. It was a nice ending. He is seven now and his best years were clearly behind him. Not very many horses retire healthy after a stakes win, and I am glad that they had the chance and (for once) the good sense to take advantage of that chance.
I completely fail to see how he was "paraded around like a freak show."
