Biggest problem is that too many pitchers don't have enough command of their pitches to come inside. If you can pitch inside effectively, you've got it made.

How many times in today's game do you see guys getting a hit on an 0-2 pitch? If I ever gave up a hit at 0-2, I came out of the game. I was taught to waste a pitch at 0-2 to set up the next pitch. If you've gotten the low inside corner with the first two, the next one was high outside. Or, if you've worked to 0-2 on the outside corner, you bust 'em in on the knuckles. Of course, that was 30 years ago.....
