He is such a homer with this horse and win the horse wins with a gutty performance like that... I loved the call just because of what you wrote. He just lost it. He was probably spitting all over his binoculars. And it was great. If you go back in sports and listen to the calls that are replayed, football, basketball, they usually come from homers. I remember a high school football game in Texas that was one of the most ungodly comebacks I have ever heard. They played these homer announcers calling the game all over the state again and again. It never got old. They were horrible but the description was great. The unrehearsed, sheer joy was a true look into what makes sports great on a personal level.
I will add that when Texas beat USC in the Rose Bowl my wife was asleep. My daughter and I were jumping all over the beds running into each other falling all over the floor, hitting each other with pillows. My wife woke up and did not yell at us.
So I am biased by the joy people show when they win. And with Texas that does not come often with National Championships. Good for Vic.

yeah, that's about right. that's why I liked it because it was unscripted bluster caused by excitement. you better believe there was spit on the glass, knocked over coffee cups, tipped over chairs, etc. we actually didn't need the call because you could see what was happening. personally I like that the guy occaisonally goes off kilter in the heat of a call.
