I believe in individual liberty and individual responsibility... I don't want our government taking care of us like we're babies. If we spent more time 'doing' as a society instead of complaining about our current governmental situation, we'd be a lot better off. Most modern day conservatives don't believe that the solution to every problem is bigger government. Most problems can be dealt with one-on-one, each person face to face. Bigger government just gets in the way (most of the time.) The line between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party is getting thinner and thinner... most modern day conservatives probably don't even know what party to attach themselves to. Hell, I know I'm confused...

Here are a few things I believe in:

1.) The right to carry arms.
2.) Fiscal conservatism (aka low taxation.)
3.) I don't believe that it's the business of the government to promote particular religions, or to interfere in the private lives of citizens.

When you really look at it (call me crazy, I guess), you would think that modern day conservatives would be allies with liberals. Conservatives defend the historical, institutional and moral basis upon which the Liberals might seek to improve conditions today, and aspire to a better tomorrow for the future. In other words, can't we all just work as a team? Heavens...

Well said Cajun! I agree completely. I'd also add I'm pro-choice, pro death penalty, and could care less if gay couples marry.
