What u guys are not doing is looking at other options. U are saying what won't work and looking at the shortcomings of Brown and Odom and Carter and Kristic, etc but u aren't saying what will work? If they don't trade Kwame, they are STILL going to have him. And since u agree that he's pretty pathetic, who's going to want him at that price? The Lakers either have to find a dummy to take him and his expiring contract or they have to keep him. I think he's staying. I'm not in any way saying that he's a solid player and makes a difference. I'm just saying this is what u are going to have. Odom is what he is. He'll never be a superstar player but if he's not traded, he'll still be here too. I'm asking what u guys would do? Do u stand pat and not trade Kobe and not trade anyone else and keep the same team that's gone sub-.500 since Shaq was traded and won't go anywhere next year either? What deals do u make? Do u ride it out with Kobe and take the chance that he opts out in two years and u get nothing in return? Or do u trade him now while he's still got value and avoid what happened to the Bulls post-Jordan and the Celtics post-Bird? They can't just sit on their hands. They got to make a major move. U guys are telling me that the deals I'm proposing would leave them with teams that would get crushed in the West. Isn't that what's already happening now and why Kobe wants out?
