The remainder of his column -- written about eight to 10 years ago -- described Hialeah's building and infield. It sounded like a great racetrack to visit. I never got there.
I imagine that there are those on this site who have visited Hialeah when it was active.
And of course, the list of all-time greats who won there is impressive.

I was lucky enough to visit Hialeah and IMO it was the most beautiful track I've seen (so far.) I haven't had the privilege of seeing very many tracks, though, so I could be biased.
