When used by someone who does not have ADD or ADHD, the drug keeps them awake but it also helps with concentration. That is just the type of abuse of ritalin and aderol that I observed at college. I am sure in high school the kids who abused it used it for a lot of different reasons, one of them probably to seem "cool".

One of my best friends was addicted to the stuff when she went to FSU. She said it made her concentrate better and she was afraid to stop taking it because she feared that her grades would suffer. I'm thankful that the only drug addiction I have is to caffeine.
