At World Sports Exchange (www.wsex.com), you can get Magnum (and the rest of the field) +1.5 lengths vs Lava Man:

Outcome Lengths Money Line
LAVA MAN -1.5 -125
FIELD (ALL 4 MUST GO) +1.5 -105

So, you win as long as Lava Man doesn't win by more than 1.5 lengths. (exactly 1.5 lengths would be a push)

-105 means you bet $105 to win $100.

I'm tempted by this bet. Yes, you can get much "better" odds by betting Magnum to win, but there are a whole lot of outcomes where you would win the matchup but lose a win bet on Magnum.

If you think Magnum is vastly under-rated/underbet, then the win bet on Magnum makes sense.

If you think Lava Man is over-rated/overbet relative to his chances in the race, then the matchup probably makes more sense.

I think Lava Man is the real deal, but I'm still tempted by the 1.5 lengths on the rest of the field. Magnum finished just 3/4 length behind Lava Man in the SA Hdcap in March.
