i was left pretty much to my own devices growing up--we found plenty to do--without our parents 'help', we turned out just fine. a bit scarred, with great stories tho! when did it become mandatory that parents completely structure every moment of their kids lives??? let kids be kids, let them be golf pros or whatever when they grow up, and choose on their own.
I was telling my wife the other night that I don't remember my parents ever helping me with my homework...and I didn't get chaufferred around when I played Sports....HS was 15 miles from home...bus in the morning and hitchin a ride at nite to get home!
